Been on Fodmaps diet for nearly 4 weeks now and at last I’m benefiting from this major change to the food I’m consuming. Soo pleased!! 😌

Fodmaps diet not so bad as I first thought.

Great its helping. Did you try a good probiotic first before starting the diet? Alflorex probiotic improved my food tolerance, so that there was more that I could eat when doing FODMAP elimination and reintroduction. More info here:

Hi - You often mention Alflorex probiotic. I assume you are in the UK. The one that is most recommended in the US by doctors is Align. do you have any thoughts about this one?
That’s great to hear! The FODMAP diet can really make a difference. I recently read an article on "Food as Medicine" that highlights how diet can influence overall health. It’s fascinating! I’ll share it with you—might be helpful on your journey too. 😊
It's so good the low Fodmap diet is helping you so much! I'm so glad to hear when someone finds something that helps.
No, it's not so bad. I remember when the doctor first gave me a booklet about it, and warned me the diet was very restricted.
I looked at all the foods and thought -wow! All that food sounds like a feast to me (after I'd been living on nothing much more than boiled eggs, fish, rice, ciabatta bread, butter and green beans!)
It didn't work any magic for me but was worth doing the 8 week trial, and I did discover a number of low Fodmaps which have become good staple foods since.
I hope it helps you even more yet. Do you have a dietician you can work with later, for the re-introduction phase? It's possible to do that yourself, but can feel like doing a crash course in nutrition!
I had to, as mine was during our 2020 lockdowns! A dietician is a good idea though, if you can get a referral from your Doctor.
Hi! Yes, i only realised low FODMAP diet would help IBS last year (after having had IBS for at least 25 years!) - been using it as a guide since and it's REALLY helped. I'm not lactose or gluten intolerant, so don't need to restrict those - the main difference it has made to me is that, having spent years avoiding most fruit and veg "just in case", i have so far found that ones on the green list really are OK to eat, which has massively increased my healthy food intake.
I do also have Kefir yoghourt and a pre/probiotic capsule each day too (along with various medication/tablets sadly), but things are much improved with a low FODMAP approach to food.
