I had a colonoscopy yesterday, Monday 25th November 9am. Historic bowel, ibs, problems but this was done because of a positive FIT test. The procedure went very well , it was fascinating watching on screen and apart fro polyps nothing untoward was noted.
Was told to go home , tae it easy for 24hrs then all will be fine. I had fentanyl and etinox during the procedure.
So it's the following day, Tuesday 11am and I've had a really bad painful night, unfortunately fell asleep and had an awful accident in the bed when I woke , spent most of the night propped up on pillows as being the most comfortable position. And I'm cold and shivering with dressing gown around y shoulders and heated blanket on
Is this normal after colonoscopy? I'm not sure if I feel hungry now or residual pain ?

Maybe contact the department where the procedure was done for advice. Colonoscopies can be quite brutal. I have had one & suffered with discomfort for a few days after. They told me as I am quite small that if I had another one they would use a paediatric scope. If you are cold & shivery probably best to get checked out. It could just be the after effects.
Glad to hear the result was nothing to be concerned about. Best wishes 🤗
Thank you for your reply. To be honest I think I might be panicking....they had minor problem with previous scarring, from 42 yrs ago! And needed to be fairly brutal getting past that....I'm thinking the cold and shivering is my bodies reaction to being over tired and the medication. I only had a 24 hrs window to contact the endoscopy unit, now I'm told to contact GP surgery, which is a waste of time as they will tell me to phone 111. I think I'll get my daughter to check me over re the shivering as she is a paramedic. Think I may be tired, weary of it all and fed up with myself! I'm passing wind, bowels have been open, some blood as expected from the biopsies. Think maybe I just needed to reach out....so thank you x
