Unfortunately I had a new IBS flare three days ago. In the beginning my pain was all over my tummy, as the hours were passing it started to be located mainly on the left side of my torso. Since then I have been doing a very bland diet to bring my symptoms down. Since last afternoon I feel better. However. I have a strong stabbing pain in the left side of my torso under my rib cage, this pain is reflecting in the front but also specially in my back.
I am afraid this is not a symptom of IBS and it could be something more serious.
has anyone experienced anything similar?
thank you

It would be easy for me to say it's just trapped wind in the splenic flexure of the colon, as that in itself can be painful, but you know your own body, and I am not a doctor. Better to be safe than sorry!
I do hope it turns out to be just bad wind or a muscle spasm, but get that checked.
As Luisa says, best to get professional advice. It could just be a symptom of constipation. Even if you think you are going to the toilet regularly, you can still be part constipated which I found out much to my surprise!
