Double whammy.

I have had IBS for 7 years and also scoliosis which runs down the female side. I do have slight problems with my pelvis but nothing major. I’m on Sertraline for depression and anxiety which is not new.

I sometimes come off this pill but thinking of coming off it now if it helps with the IBS.

Any thoughts?

I also have scoliosis. I didn't have it all my life, it just started over the past few years. My pelvis has a twist too which results in my left leg being shorter than my right by about 1-2 inches. And a lot of lower back pain in the sacro iliac joint areas both sides. Usually I just solder on with it and could be a lot worse.

It feels worse in the morning and I get some numbness down my left thigh to the knee. It seems related to bowel movements because it's agony, then when I have been #2 I feel pretty normal!

It feels closely related to my IBS but I have no idea how.

Sertraline is an SSRI antidepressant. It "does stuff" to serotonin. It's just perhaps possible that kind of antidepressant could make IBS D worse (if that's what you have?)

I have heard that "tricyclic antidepressants" have a better effect on the gut for someone with IBS D. You could maybe chat with your doctor about that?
