low pancreatic elastase

hello,

I was recently admitted to hospital for severe weight loss due to my ongoing gastrointestinal issues. I have been tested for everything but oddly a liquid stool test showed pancreatic elastase levels at <15 which is very low. This result does explain my chronic diarrhea, undigested food and stomach pain symptoms. But it’s odd that prior solid stool tests did not show these extreme levels. In fact stool tests from the past month did not show these levels, But I have had those symptoms for 5 years albeit much worse past few months. Anyone have any thoughts on why the levels are so low for a liquid stool test and not in prior tests? After suffering all these years I am desperate for a diagnosis and if I have pancreas issues then at least i know and can focus on specific treatments. Just worried the results are a false positive,

thank you as always for any response.

Hard to say. Did you bring up the issue with your docs?

You need to ask your doctor this question. I do hope though that you have found an answer and that a treatment will follow.
