Does anyone's IBS kick off when they have a cold?

I was just wondering as I have asthma, IBS and a bad cold at the moment. Does anyone's IBS kick off when they have a cold? As mine is trying to kick off cos of my cold.

Any advice would be helpful thanks.

Could be, if I have a runny nose my bum gets runny too!

I nearly asked this question last week and then decided I was over thinking it!Haven't had a bad cold since my ibs started, had a stinking cold last week and been in flare up ever since. Decided I must have accidently eaten something I shouldn't have. So glad it's not my imagination and I'm not the only one!

No tips or advice, sorry but you've made me feel less crazy 😂

My IBS always plays up when my sinuses are bad (I have chronically inflamed sinuses and various pollen and dust mite allergies). Apparently it's something to do with increased mucus being swallowed and aggravating the digestive system. You could try taking antihistamines or a low dose steroid nasal spray (check with a pharmacist) when you've got a cold as that does seem to help.
