Don’t know if this is the right place to post this. Suffer badly from sciatica and find it very difficult to stand up straight. Would oral steroids help, if not, any helpful suggestions would be welcome 🙏
Prednisolone for sciatica ?: Don’t know if this... - IBS Network
Prednisolone for sciatica ?
Not sure is the answer to that one. I too suffer with sciatica on occasions, but I get myself seen by a physio.
Not heard of steroids being prescribed for Sciatica!? I have suffered in the past but after seeing the physio I found that stretches keep it at bay. If yours is particularly painful or as you say affecting your posture it may be your piriformis muscle that is trapping your sciatic nerve, you can find stretches on line (they can be painful so you need to persevere) but if they don’t help I think a trip to the physio might be best...good luck
Yes, sciatica is a real pain (in all senses of the word). I had a steroid injection about 5 years ago and it worked for about 3 years but a second one only lasted a couple of months. I haven't heard of oral steroids working. I too find that deep tissue massage and stretching help. See youtube.com/channel/UCmTe0L... hot water bottle or wheat bag helps enormously in bed . . even in hot weather! I have had a few painful cramps lately but hadn't connected it with the sciatica. I wonder if there is a connection. Good luck!
