Hey 👋🏻 Exercise is great for stress. Also mindfulness. In fact mindfulness is one of the most valuable things I’ve ever been taught. If you really struggle maybe so cognitive behavioural therapy would help. Hope this helps. Xx
Been through the barrets scare myself. The only way I find to deal with stress, and I have not really succeeded with this, is to get out and about and do something which helps to divert the attention to things less stressful. Not a lot of fun sitting stewing about life, it eats at you when you can't change it. I have to push myself to get out and not stew in my own fat.
Having said what I have said doesn't mean I listen to my own advice! Experiencing the worst flair up I have ever experienced. All due to self imposed stress, no other factors but stress. It is eye opening just how much stress can destroy the gut. Can't even have a cup of tea without blowing up. I'm going to have to put my words into action. Interesting just how much stress is induced with not wanting to be back to where it all started from, stress feeding itself.
Mine is very closely related to stress and right now I have reasons to be stressed as trying to sell and buy a house and things keep going wrong and I feel really vulnerable as I’m in late 70s and a widow. My life seems one long stress and the ibs is the worst flare up I’ve even had. I’m doing mindfulness, hypnotherapy, but still overwhelmed by ibs pain, feeling of constant unwellness, tiredness awful
