Lactulose when to take

Hi all.

I have ongoing constipation due to the codiene I need for a long standing back problem.

It works fine and does the job.

But the problem is when to take it. At the moment I take it once a day just before bed(midnight)

But I wake up about 3/4 am and need to go without delay.Fine...

But disturbed sleep is not very good long term

But I would love to be able to just wake up normally at 8 am and do the business then.

Can anyone out there give me their routine that works at a more convenient time for them.

Well, what works for us might not work for you. If the Lactulose takes 3 to 4 hours before it works, then try taking it about 6 hours before bedtime.

There's only one way to find out and that's to try it.

I always take it Midday, because it takes me longer for it to work.

That's all I can suggest really. 🤔

I would take the lactulose when I wake up in the morning, but then I am at home all day, so it doesn't matter when I go. My sleep is disturbed through pain anyway, but I really don't want to wake up, in the middle of the night, and hae urgency.

Thanks for that.

I will give the mornings a go as I am retired and don't need to worry about work problems.
