Hi Poppi2015, please see my previous post to you. Mucus in stools is a very common symptom with IBS. I have had this frequently, particularly when I am more constipated. I think it's my body trying to produce more lubrication to get the stools out. When I am more constipated I can get blood in my stools too. This can be created by a fissure (a tear in the anus) or from a lot of irritation in the gut. You need to report these symptoms to your GP. They can do an inspection of your rectum to see if you have a fissure. What I am saying is, these symptoms aren't anything necessarily to worry about.

Do you get a feeling of tummy feeling tight with ibs

Do you mean bloated i.e. the skin is stretched and it looks like a football? Or do you mean tight as in an anxious stomach i.e. feeling anxious and holding that anxiety in the stomach. When I used to get stressed my tummy did feel very tight, but this was due to holding tension in my body. For me, yes in both cases depending on my symptoms at the time.
