Parasites, Fungal Infections - Reflux & Bloating
yes
Yes. In fact they are a leading cause. You may have something called SIBO as this is typically how it presents. It can also cause stomach pain, pain under your ribs and chest and in your back and shoulders. The rest is easy. Ask your GP. The treatment is antibiotics and a strict diet for 2 to 6?weeks where you cut out sugar and complex carbs and then slowly introduce them again. You need to test for the underlying cause. Diet, lifestyle, stress, low stomach acid and pancreatic insufficiency as well as thyroid as well as some other things are all potential links.
Can’t antibiotics cause fungal infections?
Yes but rifaxinin the antibiotic used to treat it is not a full spectrum antibiotic like metronidazole. It isn’t taken up by your stomach And does not kill good bacteria. You need a low carb and low sugar diet for about 6 weeks too in order to get rid of it. Oregano oil on its own won’t likely shift it. If you use herbal treatments use Allicin too
Yes a simple and cheap solution to try is Oregano Oil capsules 3 times per day and follow a low Fodmap diet for 3-4 week. There are some great Fodmap apps for your phone.
