I know this website has been mentioned a few times here so thought I would share this. I know it's controversial as some people say what they're doing isn't scientifically correct while others have had some very good success stories. Personally I am at the point where I will try anything so I've just ordered one. If anyone has had any luck (or not) with this it would be nice to hear your stories too.

If they were selling leeches you would still find a few people claimed it healed them! It's just a low Fodmap diet sheet that they give you for £200-£300. Most people are likely to test positive, of course because that is igg test - it tells you what you have eaten, not what you are intolerant to. It actually measures tolerance.

They just use mumjo jumbo to to get your attention. The diet they give you afterwards is a low fodmap diet. Most people will react to the same common food types on an igg test - eggs, or dairy or wheat. It is misleading to test for 300 ingredients!

Basically, they just cut a large number of carbs and processed foods out of your diet and it's that that makes people feel better, initially, for a while...

However, the initial test itself is not accurate or valid at finding food intolerances or allergies. It's a massive distraction.

I would recommend a genuine lactose test - the YorkTest is not a lactose test - if you look at the small print ;)

Start with a genuine lactose test for free on the NHS, then try a genuine celiac test for free on the NHS. YorkTest is neither of those.

Hi,

The role of York test in the management of IBS is at best unclear. Whilst the test is useful for detecting the presence of IGG antibodies to specific food components it typically yields multiple positive results and may represent a normal immune response to food.

More information on the York test is available here theibsnetwork.org/diet/have...
