Hi, just wondering if anyone ever has really dark (almost black) poo? I can't think of anything I've eaten to make it that colour, although the last few days I have been eating "normal" food rather than my bland diet. It's been when I've had an episode today after 2 "normal" poos.
Obviously when you google "why is my poo so dark" it mainly points towards bleeding inside which at 24 I don't think would happen so thought I'd ask fellow IBS sufferers first.
I'm suffering so much at the minute I'll be making a doctors app next week so will mention it then regardless.
Thanks in advance!!

It is normally when you are passing old blood, or losing iron, that this happens. If you are feeling fine and have not recently had a flare, then mention it to your GI consultant when you have your next appointment, otherwise I would contact my GP.
I feel like my life is a constant flare with my IBS haha. But today was my first flare up this week in a sense of I had to urgently use the toilet a few times. I don't have a GI consultant as my doctors tend to not like doing tests and making referrals haha so I'll call up on Monday and book a doctors appointment. Thanks
