Rather than wait to see if you "feel like" you've emptied your bowels, why not wait until your bowel motion has stopped, wait until you do a wee, and then tell yourself that is it I have finished. Get up and leave the loo, and carry on. That way you are taking away the "have I haven't I" problem and question, and are being more pro-active.
No, I am saying re-train your body to accept you as the boss, rather than the other way round. Having been told for almost five years that my Crohn's disease was in my head, I would never tell someone their pains or symptoms are psychological. (even though I can spell it)
