Celiac test advice

Hi, I've been about 90-95% gluten free for the past 2 years and now want to take a celiac test. How much gluten should I eat for 6 weeks prior to taking the test? Obviously I am nervous about seriously upsetting my stomach so would like to know what the minimum requirement is?

Many thanks.

Hiya,

Guidelines recommend that you eat gluten in more than one meal every day for at least six weeks before blood test and up until the scope/biopsy, otherwise the result may not be accurate. I was tested in April and Coeliac UK was not any more specific than that x

Hi, the coeliac society uk should be able to advise on this. I understand you are meant to have gluten in about 2 meals per day and equivalent to at least two slices of bread per day. I think wheat bread is higher in gluten than say rye for example.

I think spelt is still high in gluten? You may find that easier to digest. Also wheat sourdough bread may be easier for you to digest so worth trying these to try and reduce any discomfort.

OK thanks. Am a bit nervous about putting myself through it but if I don't I will be wondering for the rest of my life whether I have celiac or not.
