Please can someone give advice ?

Hi, im really concerned as my gp has told me i have ibs. I have had loads of tests done as i have bloating, really bad smelly gas,discharge coming out of back passage and blood. I dont no anyone with ibs to bleed, is thos normal ?

You could bleed from hemroids, however if you are really worried you can push your GP to refer you to a GI specialist.

Ive been pushing through for 3 months but after seeing multiple gps and trying bunch of tests they referred me to a GI specialist for the end of august. They should be able to rule out anything nasty.

Thank you, my Gp was meant to send me to see a gastrologist but they wrote back saying (without even seeing me ) its IBS. They checked for hemroids and had a camera, said my bowel was healthy. Its making me depressed.

Yes, this is normal. It could be just little fissures or hemorrhoids. I know it's not very settling seeing blood on the tissue, but rest assured, if you were actually bleeding internally, you would have bigger signs. I was also checked head to toe, inside and out, probably $20,000 worth of testing (thank god for insurance) and I was diagnosed with "post-infectious ibs". No reason for it. Just caught a bug somewhere, I can't even recall when it started, and it upset my internal rhythm probably forever. I've had this diagnoses for almost 5 years now.
