Can’t get medication!

Went to collect my prescription for kolanticon gel this week, only to be told by chemist that they are having problems getting supplies! Could’ve wept, it’s sometimes the only thing that helps with the pain and trapped wind. She said you’re not the only one, and just to keep calling in to see if they’ve had any luck getting it. Anyone else having the same problem? I’ve got non left, and am in the midst of a flare up, Sod’s law!😩

Hi if you're desperate I've got an unopened bottle as I find Silicol Gel works best for me

Hey there, I’ve had the same problem last year. It was a Boots chemist (are you in the uk?) who told me there were supply problems. My husband is in pharma and he phoned them and found out there was not a problem and it was all down to the buyer of the pharmacy! This also happened to me last month with Laxido. Boots said they had supply problems, but my husband called the manufacturer and they had plenty in supply - the problem was the regional buyer for our Boots stores. I’ve asked my long suffering hubby if he could call or email them them tomorrow. So I will let you know! Xx

Try online, I’ve had the same problem over Kolanticon, it’s often possible to get things that way.

Creon, Questran Light... There's unfortunately lots of meds OOS at the moment. As someone mentioned above, call your pharmacy and which which distributors they use (normally AHA or Alliance).

Then phone the customer service of the pharma company who make your med and ask about supply to the given distributor. Then take it from there.

Good luck :-)

Thanks everyone, it’s a local chemist that’s not part of a large chain. I tried online but no luck there either. Emailed the co who manufacture it, but they haven’t replied. Just have to wait and hope it’s in stock before too long 🤞🏼

Can I ask what medication it is if you don't mind? I've been unable to get my Constella prescription now for months, it's apparently due to a 'UK wide manufacturing problem', it's the only thing that helps with my IBS-C. I know how frustrating it is. Xx

Me too. Had problems with clomipramine - I take 50mg per day and at one point they only had 10mg tablets so I had to take 5 a day!. I'm now having problems with Metoprolol. My chemist can't get them, so I eventually rang 3 other chemists and found one who had a few packets in stock. They run out in 10 days so I am about to chase around for some more. Fingers crossed. But it is certainly worth phoning a few other chemists as they may have had more in stock before the problems began.
