Kidney Infection

So I was diagnosed with a Kidney infection a week ago and given anti biotics (Trimethoprin) to take twice a day for a week.

I was doing fine and the infection seemed to be clearing up nicely, then Tuesday I started to get the worst pain in my eyes in work, like they were strained, accompanied by a headache that just wouldn't shift.

Overnight I developed a fever, I just could not get warm on the inside however on the outside I was a ball of sweat.

Come the morning my body was aching and I developed a rash all over my body and 4 lumps around my neck so I called the doctors who told me if I had taken 5 full days worth then I could stop if I felt they had worked.

Since Wednesday the rash has gone down, my eyes are no longer sore and the lumps have gone down in my neck however I still dont feel 100%.

I feel completed dehydrated and I'm still getting headaches, nothing major more of a subtle pain more annoying than anything as it doesn't seem to disappear..

Should I be worried or is this just the infection still making it's way out? I dont even take paracetamol usually I am that funny about any type of tablet so I think the 200mg of trimethoprim twice a day has not agreed with my body.

Anyone else experienced this before with this anti biotic or with a kidney infection?

Thanks

I took Trimethoprim several times and had no problem ,it may be that you had caught another infection which was separate, this time of year there’s so many infections and virus around.

No..this is not usual..even for an antibiotic. I wound go off of it asap..and try a different one. It should not be causing these kind of side effects..if you get your urine tested again.,ask for a "culture" test sent to a lab. They will them out you on the right antibiotic based on your culture.
