Hi, I have just started taking Bimuno pastels twice a day which I believe are a pre-biotic. They have helped a bit. I have IBS C and have done for 16 years. Do you think I should try a pro-biotic with them? I believe the root of my problem may be an imbalance in my gut bacteria. I have tried everything over the years, and I mean everything. All of the diets, lots of different products. Nothing has completely worked. Ive had times when ive limited my diet so much there have been minimal products in it. I'm starting to feel the onset signs of depression again as i am losing interest in everthing and i am really struggling with my motivation to do things. Im struggling to feel joy for anything and i feel as though i am dragging myself through each day. So, i joined the ibs network last night and will force myself to keep looking for the next thing to try. I really dont know what to eat at the moment either. No food restrictions seem to make much difference. Ive kept food diaries on and off for years. Any advice would be very much appreciated. Thanks.

I use the powder on an odd day - why don't you try adding a probiotic in that is designed for constipation - some strains do different things - or add one with prebiotic already in

I would see your doctor about getting a course of metronidazole and clarithromycin. If you don't do this often, it can reset your bacteria back to zero and give you chance to make a new start on the diets.

There is the brain gut axis . Which means if your guts aren’t right it can have an impact on your brain. So don’t despair. Have you tried cutting yeast and sugar out of your diet. At the same time taking supplements of probiotics an Anti fungal , Digestive enzymes and Glutamine could help.
