Linsezz/Linaclotide

Hi all

I'm starting on Linzess/Linaclotide tomorrow morning as recommended by my IBS nurse. Dose is 290mg once a day.

I'm just wondering how others got on with it and if you have any advice/tips?

It relieved the constipation but it was a bit too ferocious for me. I took one before bed but I woke up about 6am to run to the toilet and I was on it non stop until 10am. Then fine all day.

I have been on it a couple of months and it is the only laxative I can cope with. I take it as soon as I wake up as it has to be on an empty stomach and not eat for at least half hour. About an hour later I have diarrhea 2 or 3 times then ok. I am generally still constipated in the evening and have to irrigate my colon. Hope you get on ok.

i take it in morning empty stomach first thing. eat 30 minutes later. usually have bowel movement 1-2 hours later. if i take it after being up and moving around for a while or after eating it doesnt work nearly as well. it helps. its better than every other medicine for constipation for me but doesnt solve my problems. take half a dose of miralax at night before bed often as well. Thats something you can do if its not working as well as you'd like. if its too strong you can get your dr to write a script for 145mg

I took 30 minutes before food in morning only laxative that has worked for me so far and I've been on a fair few with crohns &IBS.hope you get on ok .
