I'm not sure this is the right place for this post but I literally don't know where to find this information..
My daughter, 11, has IBS and has recently had a very bad sickness and diarrhoea bug, we're into the 3rd week now.
She has done 48hr starvation, at the end of last week which seemed to help but Monday the diarrhoea returned and she was sent home from school.
The gp has recommended eating only chicken and rice as her system needs time to recover.. So I'm just wondering what foods I should reintroduce next? He said she will pretty much be intolerant to most things but she needs to be getting back to school..
Any ideas?
Cheers

When my son was at school, he was tested for all sorts of things allergy related and ended up on a diet of lamb, rice and carrots and 7 Up to drink. He could also have Polo mints. All of these things are said to be non-allergenic. Obviously not a long term solution, but it did help.
I think just a very bland diet - chicken, rice, toast, tea, possibly boiled hamburger meat (boiled to remove the fat), plain crackers, gatorade, bananas. As she gets stronger you can add some cooked, but not raw fruit.
Thanks everyone.. She seems to be improving a little.. It just doesn't seem right that she's still unwell.. If it continues I'm going to ask for her to be retested for coeliac disease, we were told that she would likely develop it, just a case of when, something to do with her genes, both me and my brother have coeliac disease.
