uh god tell me about it, bloody garlic in everything! the world doesn't understand
Hey there... I feel your pain! I have had to give up, almost entirely, on pre-prepared meals and instead I go for the oven ready meats and add my own veggies. Sadly it's the sauces that do it... they include garlic and onion to give things 'taste'; and most sauces have an onion base to them. It's disheartening that soooo many gorgeous looking ready meals just aren't suitable - even the 'free-from' meals are not low-FODMAP friendly.
I have even tried emailing companies and asking if they are going to look into low-FODMAP alternatives, but they all say the demand isn't there, or just don't understand what you mean.
It would be so great to find a company willing to stick their neck out and do something around this. I had even thought of doing it myself as a web-business, but the qualifications, certifications and cost outlays are enormous.
If I come across anywhere that does, I'll post it on here.

I have not had ready meals for ages the pre cooked stuff tends to be full of FODMAPS. Cook fresh make double so you have spare the following day x
If your sensitive to garlic and onions then I'd leave off the ready meals. The fodmap diet is only a guideline as to what are low fodmap so if you tollerate some high fodmap foods you don't need to avoid them compleatly just cut down on them.
Anybody else feel bread crumbs set them off? i know this is a weird one? but like breaded veggie burgers or breaded fish! really doesn't sit well with me. Also anyone else get major anxiety when its really quiet in the office at work incase your stomach starts to bubble away :((
Kittycat27 "Also anyone else get major anxiety when its really quiet in the office at work incase your stomach starts to bubble away :((" you're not alone! I have the same situation. I try to take short breaks (mostly walks) to get relaxed. FODMAP has already built up my confident so hopefully it will help you too.
I don't know how you are doing FODMAP it's like what can you eat?? do you have any resources that help you know what you can eat/can't eat. I'm going to attend a cheshire support group soon, but thats the nearest one, and I'm based in Manchester. Yes I get full on panic attacks, especially if I find someone attractive its horrid!!!
