I have had 'so called ibs' on and off for years. Recently symptoms are more frequent but more not severe. They are lower almost constant abdominal cramps like period pains of varying intensity. Lots of wind in both directions. Several loose bowel movements per day nearly always first thing in morning. When the lower abdominal pain is absent I often have epigastric tenderness. I have had two endoscopies and diagnosed with functional dyspepsia.
Can find anything to relieve the ibs.
Does anyone have similar symptoms?

I have had that yes actually more like my insides weee being ripped apart! Especially on period funny enough! I stopped eating meat! I did it cos I saw something that made me feel sick at thought of eating it ever again but It helped my IBS. I found out it's rare but some people have neat sensitivity and I don't know if it's what they feed the animals or what but it's possible. So it may not be meat for you but you need to look at what your eating and stop eating certain things til your symptoms improve. I also drink vegan milk as lactose intolerant. And I can't have certain things but that helps no end. I had a dietician though who discharged me as I got better. And I also work out at the gym which is good for IBS especially your abs funny enough. Your bowels benefit from strong supporting muscles in the back and tummy. I don't know what til somebody told me. Think about it they don't have anything solid to support them unlike your heart and stuff,
Yes, your symptoms sound very similar to mine and if I can just ask you to clarify a couple of things, I might be able to give you a bit of management advice.
Firstly, you say your bowel movements are loose; by that, do you mean they're verging on being fluid or just that they're unformed?
You also mention two endoscopies, were these camera up and camera down or two of the same?
they were cameras down to my stomach. loose stools are quite formed but soft and quite a lot of them. not really much fluid. usually go at least twice first thing in the morning with some degree of urgency
Okay, that info means you do indeed have a very similar problem to me.
It's referred to as incomplete bowel evacuation and although you may think that, having made several trips to the loo in the morning, your bowels are empty, they most probably aren't and this is what causes you to experience so much wind at both ends.
It's very telling when you say that when the abdominal pain is absent, you often have it in your upper digestive tract instead. The wind can't escape from your bowel because of remnants of stool remaining in it (it only needs to be a very small amount) and so moves further up and tries to escape that way causing the epigastric tenderness. The same issue causes me to have reflux and dysphagia.
By trial and error I discovered that, for me, a good deal of this problem was caused by use of a prescription progesterone cream to stop post-menopausal night sweats. Apparently, progesterone in the system that isn't naturally there, can cause loss of gut motility and, by stopping its use, things improved considerably for me. Do you perhaps use progesterone yourself in birth control or HRT?
However, I would still have a fair old problem if I didn't take a laxative several times a week. I tried loads of different ones before I eventually got to Dulcolax tablets which work extremely well for me and don't cause issues such as bloating and wind. I also keep glycerin suppositories on hand which I sometimes resort to using if I haven't taken Dulcolax the previous night. If the Dulcolax doesn't seem to be working as well as it should (which rarely happens) then I take a colon cleanser instead for a few nights. This works in quite a different way to a laxative and usually puts things right.
I know that, as your bowel movements are already loose, this may sound like contrary advice, but it actually isn't.
I hope this helps and do come back to me if you need to.
I'm sorry to hear you're not finding relief. I would suggest trying a strong probiotic. I have the lower abdominal cramps too, usually upon waking up, and they do very much feel like period cramps sometimes. May I ask, do you experience nausea with your functional dyspepsia? I have been queasier than usual lately and wondering if it's related to IBS or acid reflux (or both!)
What probiotic do you take ? I have the cramp like feeling sometimes for weeks on end with varying intensity. Then it goes for a while. I think stressing about it doesn't help. Regarding the functional dyspepsia. I often have attacks of short duration but have had for a year before. I don't feel nausea. Generally I have wind and tenderness in stomach area. I also sometimes get acid reflux into throat. I do believe nausea can be symptom of ibs and dyspepsia .
