My son travelled to India a couple of years ago and was unlucky enough to catch Gardia and Chryptosporidium.
He has had terrible diarrhoea ever since going between 4 and 15 times a day. He also developed an intolerance to lactose immediately after. He also found that drinking alcohol gave him the runs even worse for the the following couple of days.
He doesn't drink very often, but the last couple of times have made him extremely sick too even though he has only drunk a couple of pints.
Has anyone else found that over time their intolerances are getting even worse.

I assume that the Giardia and Chryptosporidium were both treated on his return from India and subsequent tests showed that he was clear of both?
If not, you MUST consult the hospital of tropical diseases in London and they will advise you and treat him. If these are not properly treated, they can stay with you long-term, which might be his problem?
Hi there, thank you for your reply. The parasites have both been cleared for at least 18 months. He has had to go dairy free and is now trying wheat and gluten free to see if that will help. For a young man of 22 these are huge life changes that he is having to deal with especially his drinking intolerance which is getting worse as his mates just don't understand.
