I paid privately to have this test done by Medichecks to reassure myself there was nothing else going on with my worsening IBS-D. The result was negative.

Hi It's done with a poo test. Ask your GP for a sample tube for this test. Had my done a couple of weeks ago through the NHS , takes a couple of weeks.

Cheers

Thank you for your replies. Seems like a good idea to get it done to rule out IBD

it is a test with a good accuracy usually used in order to avoid more invasive tests like a colonoscopy. In my case I have done it twice within a 6 month difference. In my country it costs about 30 Euros (the result is given in 5-10 days). However make sure you are using a respectable lab for the test.
