I have Multiple Diverticulitis with Significant IBS, Plus I have sharp stabbing pains that shoot down my legs into my knees.

Hi I am new here. I have had a Colonoscpy which showed that Imhave MULTIPLE diverticulitis, with significant overlay of IBS. In also have an unusual symptom of excrutiating pain shooting down my left leg to my knee, which has been attributed to Nerve root problems.

I have been to Physiotherapy which did not help. I have been prescribed Amytriptiline which made me feel spaced out. I am waiting to see a dietician and also waiting for an MRI Scan.

I have had rectal bleeding, and in January this year I had a massive bleed which frightened me.

I have been to Aand E, had out of hours Doctors because of the pain, and I feel rough most of the time.

I have not been prescribed medication for IBS, lots of other pills , including Morphine,but nothing specific for IBS.

I have to be very careful what I eat and drink, and I am struggling with this.

I am 68. I have lost over a stone and a half in weight too, and I feel very awful.

I don't feel that my body is my own sometimes.

Hi I had same 63years Young be careful with morphine it causes delayed stomach emptying gabapenten is best for nerve pain. I am on morphine for years I now have delayed stomach emptying and can not eat a full meal and have to blend most of my meat and pots and greens. Ian trying to come off morphine and have increased my gabapenten with my docs consent.
