Hi I have IBS-C. Does any one find that it is not always the next day that certain foods cause a problem but the following day.

I find I have a BM within an hour of every meal. So food transit works differently for us all.

This is quite normal for IBS-C sufferers who have a slow colonic transit time, i.e. a 'sluggish bowel'. If this leads to severe constipation I've found that a couple of glycerin suppositoties followed by a warm water enema usually sorts out this problem.

Hi thank you for your reply's. I have never tried suppositories or enemas, as my problem is that my bowel just does not want to work, and if it does I only go a tiny amount. I some times use laxatives, but usually put up with the bloating as some times I can go toilet really well, just prey every morning today is the day !!
