Does anyone else get dizzy spells when they take buscopan? I have had these a few times after taking them

I've never had the dizzy feeling when I've took them but I was given some via IV when I ended up in A&E last year when my gallstone was playing up. I ended up with very blurred vision and felt very light-headed which has never happened before. When I told them what was happening, I found out they'd given me a double-dose of buscopan (20mg?) over a short space of time. The A&E doctor told me that what happened to me is listed in the contraindications for buscopan. Taking other medications with it can cause reactions and they suspected the higher dose I received reacted with the hayfever tablets in my system. I am ok with taking 1 tablet twice a day when I really have to and I am aware more can be taken if required (according to the patient information leaflet) but am now wary of them and don't have more than 2 a day evenly spaced out.

How many are you taking over a 24 hour period? Could you be taking other medications that may react with buscopan - if you're not sure, have a word with your GP or pharmacist and they can check for you

I didn't have dizzy spells, but I always ended up with terrible blurred vision, so I had to come off of it.

How peculiar! I swapped from Buscopan to Mbeverine (colofac) and no longer get light headed. I wondered what it was and thought I was becoming anaemic again.

I tried it once in the 1990`s, & I felt dizzy every time that I turned my head, so I stopped taking it.
