In regard to IBS I hear mentions of FODMAP diet and the associated App. Is this accessible to those of us who do not have access to the App?

You can get all the info from The Monash University Low FODMAP diet

med.monash.edu/cecs/gastro/...

FODMAPs can be poorly absorbed in the small intestine. ... If you google it loads more info is also available. They advise not doing diet though without dietician supervision so you might want your GP to refer you.

Don't buy the app, I did and it's very expensive for info provided. The website above is where the app originated from and you can read lots on there. Good luck x

I just printed out the chart and carry it around. Also use when I order groceries online, checking ingredients. Prepared foods are traps! My pain is way down.

The app is absolutely brilliant, particularly when you're eating out or shopping as it has a traffic lights system for individual foods which you can tailor to suit yourself, shame you can't access it.

Best info outside of Monash is in Patsy Catsos's book 'IBS - Free At last' - the author trained in FODMAPs at Monash. It's better to buy the hardcopy book version rather than the ebook as charts etc don't transpose well.

Best advice is DON'T Google FODMAPs as you'll only get a lot of outdated and just plain wrong info. Stick with Monash and Patsy.

Roz, I downloaded app onto iPad through App Store maybe my version is different. Are you using it on iPhone? I will check out book you mention as all info greatly appreciated.

Yes, I've got my app on iPhone but I would've thought it would be just the same as yours. What do you think you're missing?

Limited drinks info, covers juice and alcohol but nothing much else. Veg very specific and recipes minimum. I bought the above book and got two booklets from my dietician which were produced by Guy's and St Thomas hospitals in UK.

Try this book too by Sue Shepherd and Peter Gibson: 'The Complete Low-FODMAP Diet: A Revolutionary Plan For Managing IBS And Other Digestive Disorders'. Sue Shepherd developed the diet at Monash so you can't really go wrong.
