At the risk of sounding very pedantic but as I am a vegetarian quite important to me, if you can eat the green part of spring onions why cant you eat the green part of leeks and chopped chives. Also in salt a no no, I am very stuck with what to flavour things with is chili pepper ok and soy sauce in small amounts.

Chives are okay on a FODMAP diet.

Green part of leeks? Probably have not been tested by the medics. I would suggest you do not try until you are at the reintroducing stage.

Soya sauce? No, this has gluten/ wheat in it. I suggest Tamari which is gluten free soya sauce.

Chilli pepper? In small doses.

Once you start the FODMAP diet you will notice your tasetbuds changing anyway so concentrate of what goodness your body is getting out of the foods. Taste the food itself.

As ibsr says, chives are fine. I've also just checked the guide on the iPhone FODMAP app from Monash Uni (where the diet was developed) which gives the all-clear for the green end of leeks too, so there you go.
