Hi Everyone! It is great to be part of this community with you all. My name is Shannon and I joined the charity at the start of the year as a Digital Support Assistant.

It would be great if you introduced yourself and we got to know each-other a little better. If you have any questions or would just like to have a chat, feel free to get in touch!

As a charity we will help wherever possible by sharing resources, information and supporting this wonderful community!

Hi Shannon, thank you for encouraging me to join this community. I already regard TBTC as my 'go to' place for support, understanding and sign posting when I have queries.

I do currently have a query about my 20 yr old daughter, who had treatment for Germinoma Brain Tumours 3 years ago. She was given a separate (misdiagnosis) of primary ovarian insufficiency and had been told she would go into early menopause and hadn't got enough eggs to harvest for a future family. That diagnosis has been turned on its head and she now has the dilemma of choosing the egg harvest route or risk not being able to have a family. I must point out that she had already got her head around the first diagnosis and said that she has never had a strong feeling for a biological family and was happy to adopt if it came to it. Poor lass is now in a right old stew as she is aware the process of harvesting is quite an ordeal and she then has no guarantee of success with pregnancy. Currently she has never had a relationship - hardly had a chance since going through a cancer journey!

What a long rambling post to kick off with!!

Any thoughts, advice, experience or comments welcome.......
