hi in March I got Covid-19 for 10days was not poorly just headache last 10days then was all clear of Covid-19 But then I started to get muscle pain intense eventually got to see rheumatologist put me on steroids saying PMR in July had blood test done hospital rang and said I had sleeping TB seeing Doctor tomorrow to start medication is all this connected before March had no problem until March seems to all happen at once

Hi Bowred, thanks for sharing your story. This does sound like a difficult and confusing time for you. I'm afraid that we can not give medical advice on this forum as it is not staffed by qualified medical professionals.

I do know that certain infections - including the coronavirus - can lead to autoimmune disorders so it is worth asking your doctor if there is a link. It is also thought that covid-19 could cause latent (sleeping) TB to wake up and become active. It is good news that they have found it whilst it is still sleeping as it can be treated before it can cause any harm.

Having sleeping TB is unlikely to be related to covid though, as it can remain aslee in your body for many years without you knowing so you could have breathed it in at any time.

I hope this steers you in the right direction, as I say though, your doctor is always the best person to talk to.

hi started medication for sleeping TB Bin on medication for week now all good got go for blood test next week to check liver no jaundice at moment so hopefully with positive thinking will be all good

Doctor ask me lots of questions have I travelled certain countries do I live in London have not he’s said I got sleeping TB of sum one Who head waking TB

That makes sense - only active TB is infectious, as the TB bacteria are awake and multiplying causing symptoms.

hi just Update on my meditation for sleeping TB it been rollercoaster with Side affects nausea vomiting no appetite BUT to say I got there in end I finish my medication The end of this month I feeling stronger healthier my lungs feel stronger and healthier doze that makes sense to say feeling stronger and healthier in my body and lungs
