Question: Does a positive QFT-Plus result become negative after treatment, i.e. with isoniazid
therapy, and if so how quickly does this occur?
Answer: In prior studies using QFT-Gold In-Tube, among individuals who have had isoniazid therapy for
LTBI, data suggest that responses decline with time but still remain above the test cutoff for a high proportion of individuals (39–41). Thus, the current level of evidence does not support using QFT-Plus for monitoring the response to treatment for those with LTBI.
So, in short, the body may continue to produce an immune response even after successful latent TB treatment. This could be picked up on a latent TB blood test and confused with latent TB.
If you were treated in the past and took all your medication as prescribed, and if you have no knowledge of being exposed to TB bacteria since then, it is likely that this is the situation for you.
Do you know what s difference between T-Spot TB between QFT PLUS-TB
My T-Spot TB BLOOD Test is Positive and test result shows very high figure which is greater than 20 ( >20) Does it mean LTB infection is at very high risk
does LTBI transmit to others through fluid including sputum/ spittle/ semen , is it only it s contagious pulmunary TB BY AIR ONLY
