Have you seen a TB doctor? They need to decide if you have latent or active TB. Will you have to wait for a laparoscopy? You need an answer so that you can move forward with appropriate treatment for whatever is causing this. No one wants biopsies but you really need answers quickly.
Hi snow22,
I am replied to your direct message with as much advice as I can offer. Hopefully you will be able to get some signposting and support here too before you get the answers you need from the professionals involved in your care.
Best wishes,
Helen
I have had similar experiences to your plight. Firstly write to your doctors so that all your decisions and decisions by an other person is in 'black and white'.
If you have not been given a referral to a TB specialist doctor as Helen says you deserve and should get one without the slightest delay.
I had to ask my GP = why am I being denied seeing the TB unit's specialists when I have paid for the quantiferon gold test which was a positive test? Within two days I had the referral that should have happened decades earlier.
Even seeing the top TB doctor has not resolved what my symptoms were but she did write me two referrals that I would not have got from GP's. She was also in a position to have prescribed medication to me if she had though it suitable so if you get to the right doctor you may get quicker help?
She also knew that because I took 33 days of Ciprofloxacin that may well have eradicated tb in my prostate. She at least noted that the problem was TB when 28 doctors thought otherwise.
Her knowledge that only certain doctors 'know' TB is indelible in my mind and this should be absorbed by anyone being affected by any type of TB and even latent TB.
They are completely uninterested in extra pulmonary TB. They are all respiratory
Do any TB consultants consider extra pulmonary TB?
