Does anyone drink complan, the original flavour to help with losing out from restriction. Recently been thinking about it but so worried all the indgredients in it could make me sick
E.g. the maltodextrin, the glucose syrup, the milk and any sugars...
has anyone ever had bad experiences with it.
Also worried as I once tried fortijuce and frusibenjucy and within hours of drinking them became very shaky and ill and like i was going to throw up and really don’t want to go through that again 😞
Only helpful answers please not judgey ones, thanks x

I am trying to recover, I don’t want to restrict anymore, I am ableto eat solids and real food I just really struggle to do looking for easier way. As added nutrition.
First of all you should be really proud of yourself for starting on the recovery journey, it’s one of the hardest things you can do & getting yourself out of restriction isn’t easy but is 100% worth the struggle.
I’ve never personally tried complan and regained all my weight using food, I did this purely because it enabled my stomach to learn how to accept food again and to go back to being normal after a long period of restrictive eating. I know someone who did use nutrional drinks from the Gp, they helped her gain weight but she said they tasted awful & she wished she’d eaten or made her own.
Would you be able to blitz up your own mikshakes/high calorie smoothies? I know this can enduce fear as you can see what’s going in to them which can cause panic but it does give you more choice and they will probably taste better. If you find eating difficult then you could try pre-made milkshakes from the supermarket.
When you’ve been restricting the first step is to just refeed & not worry about the nutrional make up of the food, If you want to eat 6 bags of crisps and a whole cake then that’s fine!! You are responding to a huge deficit in your body so are craving sugar and instant energy, it’s what your brain is asking for in order to function.
As you get further in to your journey and your mind becomes clearer and healthier, you can the. focus on thinking more about nutrion.
Complan isn’t too expensive so you could always buy a box and give it a go, it won’t hurt to be having the extra energy until you feel strong enough to rely purely on food. Maybe try the vanilla as it’s likely to be slightly less synthetic than something like strawberry.
When I first started recovery I went on nutrisip (much the same as complan) and they did not taste sickly.
However, as my sanity was somewhat more restored (!) I started making my own shakes rather than using store bought ones - it meant that I was able to get better nutrients into it and make it taste like something I would like. I can give you the ingredients for my shake if you'd like? Doing it yourself also allows you to feel much more powerful than your head
Hi, thanks for the reply,I will look into nutrisip it’s not the taste I worry about it’s the ingredients I’m worried they will give me a reaction like the others.
