And I didn't need
ventolin
during the run at all - that's a very real hurdle got over, even if it is mostly psychological. Actually I think I was too occupied thinking my legs were going to stop working to think about my inhaler. This is progress.

Are you an Asthmatic runner? Post your tips here to help others please
Doctor's instructions for me is take two puffs of my
Ventolin
before I go for a run, also to carry it with me. Common sense perhaps but its not a bad thing to be reminded to carry it. 2.

Ventolin/salbutamol reliever nearly expired
The ""new"" (i.e. unused) inhaler is the same kind (blue
Ventolin
Evohaler of 100 micrograms salbutamol sulphate) was prescribed in December 2011 and is stamped to expire in June 2013. Is it still OK to use? When they expire do they just lose their effectiveness or are they actually harmful?

Update - having hard time with taper, doctors
I then project the ""what if"" anxiety back onto the ever falling peak flow and see in it something worrisome rather than simply a problem to be solved with

It has all come at once!
Well 8 months ago I didn't even take a paracetamol unless I was in absolute agony, now I am on seretide, spiriva,
ventolin
, low dose aspirin, cholesterol tablets and champix! What a difference in such a short space of time.

I am so scared that this is it
As well as her four prescribed nebulisers a day, of
ventolin
and respontin, she has been having extra
ventolin
nebs. The matron, who came on Friday, said the extra
ventolin
was fine and as she was wheezy upped her steroids to 30mg.

Odd episode
After a while I relaxed enough to be able to speak but I hadn't had any
ventolin
because I thought I was just upset. After a little while my chest still felt tight, so I had a couple of puffs of
ventolin
and it eased off a bit.

My mum, a quick update
Called GP out, no infection but 'tight and wheezy', she is already on 30mg of prednisolone, so can't really increase them, but she said to use
ventolin
nebuliser as and when needed. She asked my mum if she wanted to go to hospital, and she didn't want to, which I completely understand and accept.

Feeling down and a little lost...
Medications I take for the asthma include -
ventolin
, montelukast, uniphyllin, spiriva, omeprazole (for reflux) and long-term pred. I'm just feeling like the asthma is so uncontrolled but I have no idea if there is anything else the GP can be giving me?

A eureka moment
We have been made aware that her next infection could be her last :-( She has home and ambulatory oxygen, and a nebuliser, four times a day, contains
ventolin
and respontin.

Dare I say, I felt a bit less anxious today. (It's another long 'un.)
The nurse said something was 67, so I was mild, but, I noticed that this was after she had me use the
ventolin
. She said 80 was what she would have expected. My oxygen was 100%. My Dr said It was fairly mild. I think he was trying to make me calm down.

My ongoing infection.
He has put me on Seretide 500 to accompany my Spiriva and
Ventolin
. Sent me for a chest X-ray, which he doesn't think will show anything sinister as I had one 6 months ago, but WILL show if I still have a sign of infection and whether this exacerbation has caused more permanent damage.

My biggest enemy - me!
Oh hell I have now found yet another thing I am allergic to :( Wheeze, wheeze, cough, splutter, spray, down on knees crawl out of the room, blast of
ventolin
, phone neighbour, throw up, nebuliser on the go, the cats locked in the run and every window in the house wide open to get rid of the smell

This may help someone who has indigestion (possibly as a side effect of inhaler)
I've previously either blogged or asked a question about indigestion as a side effect of
Ventolin
and Spiriva, both meds have indigestion listed as a side effect on their patient information leaflet.
