Unfortunately I've hit a bit of a brick wall with my asthma :( I'm on Seretide,
Ventolin
, Uniphyllin, Certrizine, montelukast, pred (ment to be 10mg but can't get below 25mg these days) I've tried atrovent, tiotropium, symbicort, oral salbutamol (put me in a funny heart rhythm :/ ) and Xolair to no avail

Worried about current situation
I was on Seretide 250 and
Ventolin
. Had a bad spell (needed several nebulisers over the last few weeks), now got a haemophilus chest infection and the doctor has put me on prednisolone, changed my Seretide to Symbicort and gave two more weeks of antibiotics.

Regular activities. Help!
Someone told me that all I had to do was taking 2 puffs of
ventolin
every four hour and I could do whatever I want. Yesterday in the place were I live we went from 62°F to 91.4°F not cute at all!. Question is, it true what they said about the 2 puffs?

Last week, looking back, I was using
Ventolin

A difficult day
I have a mattress on the floor in my mums bedroom, she wakes 2 or 3 times a night needing
ventolin
nebuliser and morphine. She has made her wishes clear about hospital and no resuscitation etc., and today she was planning her funeral. I arranged for the vicar to come today, who was lovely.

Pulmonary fibrosis
I have a oxygen concentrator which helps a bit, but the thing I would love here about is I only have
Ventolin
and I seem to cough so much after taking it I'm wondering how if effects other people. The hospital said steroid inhalers will not help much, so I just plod on struggling through the day.

Help would be much appreciated regarding getting diagnosis for coughing and wheezing.
I have had a cough for the past year and a half nearly but was only a problem initially after exercise when I would cough and get wheezy, I went to the doctor and he suggested it could be adult onset asthma and gave me a
ventolin
inhaler and said if it helps continue to use and I don't need to see him

That'll learn me!
Took a lot of
ventolin
but I can now speak and my sats are now fine. I haven't done a peak flow because it would set me off again. If I'm not sorted in another half hour I'll have a neb, and if that still doesn't fix it I'll give myself a hydrocortisone injection.

When to start steroids?
Symptoms have been getting worse over last few days, not coping with heat, wheezy when I walk around an need lots more
ventolin
if I have to go outside. I have prednisolone at home, just wondering what the usual criteria is for starting it?

A Strategy for Dealing With Stress
Take your rescue drugs (for me
Ventolin
and Atrovent). Start pursed lips breathing (most 'old hands' will do this automatically). Concentrate on blowing out more air than you breathe in. If you have a pulse/oximeter, use it.

What to say to kids when they see you flare
Two puffs of
ventolin
calmed it but after I was back to breathing like a normal human being, the oldest told me that it was really scary seeing me struggle. It upset me to see him worried for me. I told him that it was a lot scarier on the outside than it felt on the inside.

Week 4 Run 2 plus extra characters - who did the feedback on this?
I'm thinking I might repeat W4 - doing it on 3 doses of
ventolin
seems a bit like doing it on crutches. Aaargh, they've 'improved' the site. That'll probably go like most improvements then.

I am on the symbicort inhaler three times a day and
ventolin
when required and am at the moment on weekly reviews with the asthma nurse and waiting referral to the chest clinic. I think this is a bit of a vent at feeling so much like a lab rat!!!

Can asthmatics who have neither smoked nor been passive smokers contract COPD?
I have been coping with asthma since childhood using epinephrine and
ventolin
tablets. Turning 60 years,
ventolin
and steroid inhalers as well as prednisolone tablets are not giving me long term relief. Yesterday I was put on SPIRIVA, implicating COPD?

My chest has been feeling a little bit tight/heavy most of the day so have been taking
ventolin
to ease it, but thought I was ok really breathing wise until I got home from work and looked in the mirror and saw that I was using accessory muscles and sucking in at neck/shoulders.
