Thyroid-stimulating hormone (TSH) test

Plasma tsh was normal. Ferritin remains higher than normal range. Thyr rec ab wasn’t tested but was abnormal in April. Thyroid peroxidase ab conc was also high abnormal in April. Do I need to get all these tested again before my 2nd endo appt next weds? To get the full picture?

I am in 63 but have always looked after myself but all I was getting your TSH is good so it's not your thyroid, it's just your age. I went private about a month ago and was put on NDT it's a bit early to see if it had made a difference to me internally but externally I feel better.

TSH- 1.96 (0.27-4.2) T4- 16.8 ( 12-22) T3- 4.3 ( 3.1-6.8) Had taken 12 and a half levo from 27 May to 9 Jun, and on 22 and 23 June. Wonder if this dose is adequate as don,t feel any better if take more.

TSH in the 20s and 30s. With t3 often low despite the combination in NDT. I have access to 25 mcg of Cytomel. Hard to carry the cost but have access. And a pill cutter that does its job. ***How would you add t3 back in or would you?

Usual TSH is 0.60 mu/L (0.27 - 4.2). Many thanks.

I remembered, I wanted to ask what is meant by “detectable” TSH when interpreting blood tests. FYI range is 0.2 - 4.0 miu/L if that helps. I tried to google research the answer, but I still don’t understand. It’s just so many numbers! Edit: Range changed from optimal to actual range.

Hi, I have been on 50 levothyroxine for around a year as my blood readings showed subclinical hypothyroid around 5 TSH. This reduced the TSH to 1.9 without side effects but my latest reading was 4.44 and I was tired again so they upped to 75 8 weeks ago.

All the blood tests came back in normal ranges, bar TSH, which was suppressed like it always is. They only tested FT4, which was at the top end of the FT4 range.

He wrote to my GP and said to keep my TSH under 2, and said I was now clinically euthyroid. (hmmm , with T3 at 29% at that point) If I took more levo (independently - as neither GP or Endo will increase it) is it likely that it would improve my T3 by much?

Levo is now 75mcg T4 is 20mcg Tsh in both tests were 0.01

After doing that my TSH was still around 6, but I feel completely fine and my muscle symptoms went away. When I was on 100mcg my TSH was always at the upper end of the range. I dont know what to do and it's making me stressed. Thanks in advance.

December 2023 (this was during ovulation so TSH may have been slightly raised) TSH 0.59mU/l (0.30-4.50) fT3 3.92 ng/l (2.30-4.20) fT4 1.53 ng/dl (0.80-1.70) January 2024 TSH 0.33 mU/l (0.27-4.20) T4 20.3 pmol/l (12.0-22.0) no T3 was tested.
