Thyroid-stimulating hormone (TSH) test

After being parred off by my gp who was stating how tsh works and because my tsh is 0.008, i have too much levothyroxine in my body.He said to reduce my levo to 75mcg.I've currently increased to 125mcg. I'm feeling the best I've been for a long time and really don't want to feel rubbish again.

Hi I my last 2 IVF cycles got cancelled due to unstable TSH. I have a scan and will repeat TSH this coming week. Hopefully things go well.

Recent blood tests, ordered by my colorectal surgeon/consultant, show l have low TSH (0.06) and normal T4. He has ordered testing for T3, presently in progress. I was advised to see my GP to seek advice, information and treatment as appropriate.

My latest results were TSH 0.02 (0.35-4.94) Ft4 11.4 (9-19.1) Ft3 3.9 (2.4 - 6) My endo originally said I could continue with my current prescription (levothyroxine 50mcg, Liothyronine 2 x 5 mcg) at my own risk but as the TSH has dropped lower still I suspect she has changed her mind.

As a rule of thumb, should I aim to keep my TSH as low as possible and my FT4 as high as possible within the acceptable parameters ?

My TSH has increased slightly even though my dose hasn't changed and my T4 is exactly the same. Is this normal? My TSH is suppressed due to thyroid cancer My results in August were T4 - 22.5 and TSH 0.13 Now my T4 is 22.5 and TSH 0.45

- GP increase my dose to 100mcg levo & my TSH reduced to 0.09mU/L - Dose reduced to 75mcg levo & TSH dropped to 0.02mU/L - GP moved me back down to 50mcg levo, TSH increased to 11mU/L - Levo was then increased to 75mcg & 6 weeks later my TSH was 74mU/L (8am test).

hi My recent blood work, this month shows tsh 1.71(0.35-4.94) higher than previous results. Aic-5.9( 4.6-5.6) higher than previous results Platlet count- 437( 142-346) How do i lower my aic?

I started on 25mcg levothyroxine with a TSH of 6.09 (T4 18.1) (ABS 252). A month later, my TSH had reduced to 4.43 (T4 16.2), and so the GP increased my dose to 50mcg. 6 weeks later, my TSH today was 0.54 (T4 not reported). So, is this right dose? Or is it too much?

I was on 120 Levothyroxine and was reduced to 100 my Dr said my T4 was high but my TSH was normal. I can't sleep at night but tired all the time. My face is puffy and my stomach distended I have had an underactive thyroid for 28 years and was told my thyroid was the size of a five year old.

My daughter had her TSH privately tested in April and the result was 4.5mIU/L, the highest it has ever been. The blood was taken in the evening after flying back from Seville. In June (at lunchtime) her GP tested it and the results was 1.2 which is the lowest it's ever been.

I will test my tsh every 2 weeks now . How long does it take for tsh to come down again? . Im worried as i am newly pregnant. my free t4 is in range

TSH - 7.6 (range 0.35-5.00) and Free T4 - 9.4 (range 9.0-21.0). GP has stated to wait another 3 months and re-test to confirm or exclude hypo diagnosis.

This was due to my TSH levels being 0.01 and T4 being 35. I eventually got an Endo appointment and they said that they now dont suppress TSH for more than 10 years and needed to bring my TSH up.

But I was surprised, after months at this level, my TSH was 3.63. It had been just above 5 when I switched my regimen, but it is long enough to have reset. So-- Am I taking enough? Should I be taking some T4 too? (still tired & getting sick all the time.
