Experiences with

Topotecan

As it is too close to last lot to have carboplatin again, I will be given Topotecan. Has anyone had this, or does anyone have info about it? I know I will probably lose my hair again, but still have the wig! Would be grateful for any input.

We never did get the second opinion but we did see another new doctor who decided on the Topotecan. After the first couple of cycles things seemed to be getting better and Jackie’s C125 was dropping all the time.

Then I was neutropenic,anaemic and all other blood properties were askew so I needed a lot of medical help, transfusion etc to get me back on my feet.Doc said renal failure was caused by the chemo ,( topotecan) Im back home now,have been for a week, albeit with another water infection and waiting to

Anyway , our next port of call is topotecan . Depending on kidney function test .I could say I'm angry , numb ,disappointed etc......I'm totally lost for words So fingers crossed , again . Suzie Que xxxxxxx

Have just found out today that my oc has returned and my onc has suggested I have Topoecan. The info I have received does not give any indication as to the length of time the drug is adminstered over each day. This will be the 4th line treatment I will be receiving. Feeling rather down at the moment

Today he informed me that Caelyx is in short supply worldwide and that I would have to have Topotecan instead. I had greared myself to having Caelyx being I week out of 4 but the thought of having chemo 3 weeks out of 4 is almost overwhelming. Has anyone else heard of this shortage of Caelyx?

Hi Everyone, I would like to know if anyone has been on Topotecan, what side effects and how long were you progression free for? also has any one done the trail Saracatinib, how well did you cope with the side effects?

Have been to see my oncologist today as I have been having problems with ascites this while on Topotecan. Have had 5 sessions since September and at my scan half way through there had been some improvement. He does not want me to have any more chemo and have quality of life rather than quantity.

Have been recommended to try Topotecan. Does anyone have any experience of trying this and what was outcome?
