Doing well on Tocilizumab š¤š„³
I just wanted to put a positive comment on here about
Tocilizumab
. My inflammation markers: ESR and CRP have been within 'normal' range for the last couple of monthly blood tests! š„³I have been on
Tocilizumab
since January and it seems to be doing it's job so far! š¤

Lower Abdominal pain and Tocilizumab
Tocilizumab
side effects: The main thing I have noticed is a proneness to infection, like UTIs, sinus, nasal and Blepharitis. This will be because my immunity is so firmly suppressed what with Prednisalone and

Actemra???
I have read up on this drug (
tocilizumab
) and it seems like a good thing. I am curious about those of you on the forum who have used this drug and what your experiences have been. Thanks in advance!

Preparation for Actemra infusion?
I will have a two hour infusion with Actemra (
Tocilizumab
)Monday morning. It is the first time Iāve done this and Iām supposed to have one each month. Are there any suggestions on how I might prepare myself so I wonāt be made sick by the Infusion? What questions do I need to ask?

For Littlepom: Reply from my MP
The letter detailed cheerfully all that the Government has done to protect the most vulnerable- lots of vaccines, new medications (dexamethasone or
tocilizumab
anyone?) and antivirals. Lots of older people, care home residents and the immunosuppressed will get the booster -hooray.

My GCA/LVV experience
I have instinctively decided to stop
Tocilizumab
and take my Rheumatologistās advice on next steps. I am not sure if some or any of my symptoms relate to GCA/LVV or just the drugs that are hopefully controlling the dangerous inflammation.

Tapering on Tocilizumab (Altrema)
She is starting me on
Tocilizumab
(Altrema) this week. I have been on 40 mg prednisone for the last two weeks, having tapered from 45 mg two weeks before that. She is suggesting that as soon as I get the Altrema I can go down to 37.5 mg or 35 mg.

I take
tocilizumab
injections once a week and they are stored in the fridge, I'm not sure how to transport my medication and store it in Cuba. It's a 10 hour flight. Thanks in advance

HRT postmenopause anyone?
She said that she was unable to completely follow the steps because my
Tocilizumab
isn't on my records with them, even though they have shared care!

Why do my teeth hurt? š«
I have
Tocilizumab
, Methotrexate, Sulfasalazine mainly. I started Atorvastatin about 2-3 weeks ago, which seems to be going fine; feeling no obvious side-effects so far. I have taken paracetamol and could take some etoricoxib, if I need to. They're really, really throbbing š

Tocilizumab Low Neutrophils and now high cholesterol
I am getting really worried now. My Consultant thinks my low WBC is due to the TCZ so I am having another break. My GP has been on the phone telling me that my cholesterol has risen to 7. I've never seen her but she was anxious to get me to look at my diet. I had to explain I have RA and the medication

Atorvastatin 40mg added to long medication list!
We think is is familial (hereditary) high cholesterol, but is being exasperated by
Tocilizumab
. My GP said that she would start me on a low dose - is 40mg a low dose? My sister is only on 20mg after increasing from 10mg! What are your experiences?

Tocilizumab was refused.
Any idea why my rheumo told me that I can't have
tocilizumab
? She would not elaborate. MTX was making me sick.

Liver function tests with Tocilizumab.
My Rheumatologist proposes that I come off
Tocilizumab
and start Methotrexate . It was my understanding that Metotrexate also caused raised liver enzymes. I donāt want to alienate my lovely Rheumatologist but I really donāt want to start Methotrexate. Have I really run out of options?

An update in my quest ā¦
Hi All, I have had a letter back from the State Health Department regarding my endeavours to get an extension to my allocation of
tocilizumab
. Thing is, itās a Federal decision so I havenāt given up, but not overly optimistic either. I have attached the letter.

Availability of Tocilizumab [TCZ] on NHS
The original NICE gidance on
Tocilizumab
, TA518, was to be reviewed in 2021. Has that review taken place? Have there been any indications that the 1 year max treatment with TCZ on the NHS will be extended?
