Strange asthma
Hi I have had asthma since I was 5 years old. I am now 64. The last few years my asthma has gotten worse -well I think it has. I have never been hospitalised and I have never been to a chest specialist. I have been on the same inhalers fir the last 18 years namely Foradil and Qvar and the last 5 years

Portable Nebuliser
Hi, I've had an Omron U22 Microair since last spring. It was great until November when it stopped working (so helpful!) Amazon kindly replaced it instantly and it's been working perfectly until today - electrode issue I suspect. I'm not sure if they'll replace it again but, before I try and find out

New to here and needing help/support please
Hi. I've had asthma since being a child but has always been fairly well controlled with only occasional flair, but since beginning of Jan it has been a difficult time. Initially I was given antibiotics for chest infection and 30 steroids for 5 days, when these finished 2 days layer I went back as still

I'm currently in hospital. I'm having nebs but they havnt done anything else. I'm still very wheezy. My peak flow is down to 50% and I'm getting very scared. What should be happening now?

Has anyone bought or got a NIOX VERO® for assessment and management of airway inflammation for asthma?
Hi. My asthma is still not great. I'm taking a nebuliser treatment at home now once a day along with steroids still. I just found this link, It's USA based but it has a UK link to it. The website looks very thorough, with case studies, publications, resources and so much info about what they are about

X-Ray was normal, I'm not responding to any medications, and symptoms only getting worse
A little over a month ago, I started developing some strange symptoms. It started with just a cough, so I took some OTC cough meds for several days which did nothing. After that I went to my GP who prescribed some antibiotics, which also did nothing. My symptoms started getting worse after a week or

Increase in severity of asthma
Hi everyone, I am new here but glad to have found this forum. I have had asthma since I was a baby and it has always been really well controlled. I would get a chest infection in the winter and be given antibiotics and usually recover within a week or two. Not this time. I became ill last November

Bronchiectasis and ill health retirement
I'm wondering if anyone has experience of ill health retirement because of bronchiectasis? My daughter is 28, works for local government. Has severe bronchiectasis, takes 29 different tablets daily (including steroids and daily antibiotics) nebuliser 6 times daily, physio therapy twice daily, injections

Advice on saline nebules please
I use saline through a nebuliser several times a day to help clear mucus, every time I do I feel short of breath and I am not finding that a lot of mucus is coming up.I find I am making my chest sore and my ribs through trying to cough it up.I use the usual huffing breathing technique to try and loosen

Hi. I'm totally new to this community and forum. This is my first post on here. Maybe this long detailed account of my experience this week, might help some other asthmatic who is or will be going through a similar thing and is feeling worried and scared. I've had a lousy week with my asthma and feeling

Still feel grotty post prednisolone.
Hi all, I had an asthma attack a week ago and ended up getting put on a nebuliser, then sent home a few hours later with 5 days of 40mg pred. I've finished the steroids and my peak flow is still shooting up and down between 65% and 80%, still very phlegmy, and lungs feel heavy with some sharp pains.

Immune system
There was a good article on the Asthma UK newsletter about how asthmatics find it hard to fight colds and viruses and they are researching for a new med to stop attacks.. I can't fight viruses any more..it just lasts and lasts..I feel I have had this sore throat for ever..went down the doctor's on Friday
