Five year check up after thyroidectomy
Hi, what’s the usual timespan between check ups after having thyroid removed ( and lymph nodes) due to papillary cancer? It’s coming up to 5 years this year. What will it entail if so?

Struggling post thyroidectomy - is is possible for your body to reject thyroid medication?
Hello everyone, This will be a somewhat lengthy post, so I apologize in advance, I am just desperately in search of anyone who may have/had similar struggles. I had my thyroid removed May 2021 due to papillary thyroid cancer. I was 32 at the time and overall pretty healthy. My TSH was always normal

Thyroid levels and heart failure
I had a
thyroidectomy
20 years ago and have taken Erfa thyroid and T3 for 19 years. My T4 and T 3 levels are within range but TSH is very low and always has been. It was only 4.5 when I had my
thyroidectomy
with a shrunken very diseased thyroid gland.

FT3 may be better than FT4 in setting therapy levels.
The aim of the present study was to elucidate whether free thyroxine (FT4) or free triiodothyronine (FT3) indicates better for adjusting the dose in athyreotic patients on LT4 monotherapy after total
thyroidectomy
.

Help understanding post Thyroidectomy numbers
Hi, Almost a month out of
thyroidectomy
. Do not have pathology back - both surgeon and endocrinologist are perplexed and frustrated, don't know if it is a staffing issue due to Covid or if I should be concerned by that. But I will hear tomorrow if it is now in (Endocrinologist).

Advice needed please.....painfull swollen gland in neck, left hand side.
Brief history: Had a
thyroidectomy
1992, due to cancer. At that time, was told that during surgery they were not able to clear out all of the cancer cells. Two years ago endo stopped medicating to suppress TSH level.

Another crazy “maybe” unrelated thyroid issue…. You be the judge!
My vision has gotten a lot blurrier over the past 5 years after
thyroidectomy
its like having your eyes open under water. I been plagued with this since my thyroid removal, is it related or just a coincidence?

Checking my blood results!!
I had Graves Disease in 2018 and had a
thyroidectomy
in 2019. I have since been on levothyroxine 100micrograms. My last Blood test in January 2022 showed that I needed to increase the levothyroxine so the doctor increased my dose to 125micrograms.

Thyroid function test result
Following my total
thyroidectomy
in January, I'd like your opinion on my second set of thyroid function test. This is as a result of my Levo reduction from 150 mcg to 125 mcg: TSH 2.4 Free T4 18.7 The blood test was done first thing in the morning and 24 hrs after taking my last Levo. Thank you.

Unintentional weight loss. Could usual dosage of levothyroxine now be too high?
Papillary thyroid cancer successfully treated in 2016 (at age 61) by
thyroidectomy
and radio active ablation. Have since taken levothyroxine at varying doses (100mg daily for last 2 years ).

MTC/Thyroid
Hi all, 5 years after
thyroidectomy
due to MTC I'm having the most awful episodes with racing heart, chest tightness, tingling in extremities, dizziness, nausea and a sort of giddy feeling. Had ECG and heart was fine, BP also good. GP thought it was anxiety and prescribed Xanax for the short term.

Why Sudden increase in degenerative bone disease?
Wish I never did this
thyroidectomy
. I haven’t had my D tested in a long time as its almost impossible to get my doctor to give me one let alone a vitamin panel. I think next time I go for blood work I will pay out of pocket and treat myself if need be… aggravating.

Tania Smith's take on our recent model paper
I'm sure many would like to hear your response to Gullo et al's 2017 research on T4-dosed patients after a
thyroidectomy
losing T3 in winter in Sicily while the thyroid-healthy people gained T3 in winter.
