Low PSA, high metastasis, ready for chemo+
I was with another doc until last week who advised Eligard, plus Nubeqa and then
Taxotere
…the standard “triple therapy”but I didn’t feel he was throwing the proverbial kitchen sink at my disease which I think is warranted.

Rising PSA on taxotere
Denny's been on
Taxotere
since July. After an initial rise to 100, he had a 13 point drop in his PSA to 87 in September. Yesterday's lab work shows a PSA of 92 which is where he was in July before he started chemo.

dad newly diagnosed
My dad has been recently dx with stage IV with multiple bone Mets, he had his first round (of six) of
taxotere
this past Monday and seems to be really struggling with side effects, just wondering if these typically subside within a certain timeframe or if it’s super individualized in terms of everyone

On Triplicate Therapy, Docetaxel, MO has made no suggestion to do PSMA Scan, CT Scan or MRI to see if treatment is working.

PSA is relatively low, but I am having bone pain in my pelvis and spine
Started out with Firmagon and 5 rounds of
Taxotere
. PSA went to 0.1. We switched from Firmagon to Orgovyx in August 2021. In January 2022 we added Nubeqa. PSA has held pretty steady around 0.1 - 0.3.

Daughter Supporting Father
He had 6 rounds of
Taxotere
, and by the end of treatment, his PSA was undetectable. In 2019, his PSA spiked and he was on Xtandi for a year and a half, with great success, then switched to Zytega when PSA started to creep up.

Taxotere vs Zytiga
On to my new question, when I saw my MO last week, we discussed me going on
Taxotere
/Docetaxel. Later that afternoon my MO called me and said I did well on Erleada/apalutamide until it started making me dizzy all the time. With that in mind, my MO wants to put me on Zytiga instead.

Second phase with Zytiga....then what?
Im reading and hearing that two years of hormone therapy, radiation, then
taxotere
gives me a 30% to 50% chance of non recurrence, if that. So its down to this..... Any options Im not aware of....PSA is now at 0.06. Testosterone at 10. Any way to beat this animal......

out of options?
They said they may only do one or two more doses of
taxotere
instead of the additional 5 they had planned on. They suggested he research clinical trials. Is there one place to go to see what trials are available, and how to participate? Or is it just a general internet search?

What next after Ibrance? - Verzenio, Kisquali, Xeloda & more
Taxotere
/Cytoxan seems like a pretty heavy-duty full-on chemo so I'm wondering if Xeloda would be a happy medium? many thanks in advance!! - LD

Chemo "reset?"?
Hello all, I believe I saw it here a while back where it was stated that after castrate resistance has been reached and then moving onto
taxotere
(chemo), that in some cases the chemo somehow causes some sort of a "reset" to where drugs like Orgovyx, Xtandi, Zytiga, etc., begin to work again..

getting Taxotere in 1 Month, curious about the effects of it.
He's scheduled to get Docetaxel (
Taxotere
)
in a month. I was wondering what are the side effects & how I can help manage them if any. Also any advice, insight, or similar stories would also be greatly appreciated. Anyone who's fighting the fight, wishing you the best of luck!

still in the hospital…..
This onc said that, since Joe developed pneumonia while on
taxotere
, he won’t get all the doses. He asked Joe what his plan is after chemo (I’m sorry….is Joe supposed to design a treatment plan after chemo?) I said I have asked for a PSMA.

Next round of treatment underway
There was some discussion about adding
Taxotere
to the plan as well but the consensus was to save that bullet for later, though they said it was my choice. Any thoughts out there?

Prostate removal after radiation??
Since diagnosis (2016) I've had chemo (
taxotere
), 25 radiation sessions on my prostate, along with regular shots of ADT (Eligard). I currently have a PSA of .7 I recently had a PSMA scan, and the only cancer in my body at this point is in the prostate gland itself.
