Zytiga failed, starting Xtandi. What to expect for my dad.
Oncologist was going to start
taxotere
but decided to try Xtandi. What should we expect? Any advice is very much appreciated.

Deciding on Chemo or alternatives ?
Can anyone tell me their experience with
Taxotere
? I have read that if you have a negative ARV7 test that Enzalutamide might still work. If I have a negative ARV7 then perhaps I could get a few months from Enzalutamide before starting Chemo. Can anyone comment on that sequencing strategy?

Abiraterone plus PARP inhibitors after Taxotere- has anyone received health insurance approval?
I've just finished 6 rounds of chemotherapy (
Taxotere
). Next step per my MO and urologist is to start approx. 2 years of abiraterone (plus prednisone).

I believe the chemo will be
Taxotere
. I would greatly appreciate any advise as to what we should expect. I am definitely “a realist” and a “planner” by nature so please be frank, and kind! My husband is 69 and feels and looks good. He is however becoming increasingly fatigued.

Hello out there
I am glad after my first chemo with
taxotere
let my hair grow back thick. Lastly it’s the fatigue. I nap all the time and sometimes feel I can never get anything done. For example it took 9 mo this to loom knit a pair of socks. I was just learning but, WOW!

Friend with advanced Prostate cancer
Was treated with
taxotere
but cancer spread to liver. Was then treated with jevtana and psa climbed to 1000. Not sure of Gleason score. He sees his hematologist/oncologist tomorrow. That guy has already told my friend, Bob, and his wife that he has not had much success with immuno therapies.

On Chemo but 1 Rib giving me pain.
Did 3rd infusion
Taxotere
. Pelvic pain completely gone and not limping anymore. PSA started going down a little from 23 to 17. Oncology said because Chemo is working, wait until completing all 6 infusions before doing anything about that Rib.

What to expect next?
My Dad completed 5 rounds of
taxotere
and tolerated it well. Now he’s hospitalized for esophageal ulcers and is on acyclovir IV. The onc is stopping the Chemo & prednisone. He’s comparing the new CT of his chest, abdomen and pelvis.

To all those who received XOFIGO treatment :
The side effects of XOFIGO seem to be similar to
Taxotere
which actually put me in the hospital. So please..... anyone that has been given this drug please respond soon! I need to know if there are persons out there with minimal side effects that managed normally.

Now off Xtandi trial. Rechallenging with Taxotere next.
He is now going to rechallenge with
Taxotere
. I’d be interested to hear how
taxotere
as a rechallenge has been for anyone. Thank you.

Any Gleason 10, advanced metastatic, castrate resistant survivors out there??? Please give me some hope!!
Oncologist is saying he feels it may be castrate-resistant and his talking about
Taxotere
. However the most alarming thing for me is that he has already told us we have about 12months. What?! My dad looks and feels amazing--how can this be?? Any hope will be greatly appreciated!!

Taxotere
Have any of you had to endure
Taxotere
chemotherapy? What side effects did you experience and once concluded did any of the side effects remain? How did it affect your PSA? Thank you

Call it stable or call it NED...whatever, I’ll take it!
Last April, after progression on Carbo/Alimta and Alimta maintenance, I started Docetaxel (
Taxotere
) and Ramucirumab (Cyramza) as second line and I’ve been stable since last August.

Xtandi AND Provenge so soon?
Did Lupron and then 6 sessions of
Taxotere
. PSA went down a lot but not to beow 1.3~~~~NOW, just a few months later...my PSA since Late Jan went from 1.33 to 1.83 to 2.4 (every six weeks). **this classified me as Castrate Resistant Advanced Stage 4....NOW I'm starting Provenge AND Xtandi.

What's my next line of defense?
July 2014 - Stage IV Metastatic Prostate Cancer PSA = 89.7 Alk Phosphatase = 1493 Upon my diagnoses, I immediately started a combined treatment of Leuprolide (Eligard, Lupron) hormone injection every 90-days, Bicalutamide (Casodex) 50mg tablet daily and chemotherapy
Taxotere
6-rounds.

Prompted by the Nalakrats / Tall_Allen Debate.
Back in 2005 the conventional options were Lupron &
Taxotere
(FDA approved only in 2004) for when Lupron failed. But I kept reading that Lupron mostly failed within 18-24 months. Why rush into a drug that is merely palliative & with a less than impressive mean time to failure?

Are thigh leg aches "normal" after done with 4 rounds of Cisplatin and Taxotere?
It seems I can't shake having constant leg aches. It feels like muscle burn as if I've climbed a mountain. I remained active during my treatments albeit not as active as before but, still I wasn't just a couch potato. Will this constant muscle ache go away anytime soon? Is it normal to have this

Not good news for me today.
At my initial diagnosis last August, I was immediately started on casodex along with 6 infusions of
taxotere
. I will now stop all current treatment and in 3 weeks will start a clinical trial of oral combination, cediranib and olaparib, or just olaparib depending on my full body MRI next week.
