Seretide to Symbicort
I just wondered if anybody had developed a worse cough, especially in the morning, when switching from seretide 250 to
symbicort
400/12. I changed the inhalers just over a week ago and seemed to be feeling worse.

Cough cough cough
Sunday evening I coughed for England, I took Loratadine for the hay fever, Singular, and my
symbicort
and ventolin, It took a couple of hours but eventually quietened down and I was able to sleep. However woke the next morning coughing again, not so bad but it makes me so tired.

Alternatives to preventer inhalers?
I have also tried
Symbicort
, Formeterol (on its own, which I have been told should not be prescribed as a stand alone treatment) and Serevent. What happens is, I try one of these long acting preventers and stop using them after a maximum of 4-5 days as the back pain is awful.

What's going on?
Last time i saw the asthma nurse she suggested i try to reduce the
symbicort
to see whether i could use less (on the basis that its always good to use the minimum i need ).

Is shaking / trembling & cramps to be expected?
I've gone from Becotide alone to Becotide & Serevent to
Symbicort
and back again. Serevent gave me cramp, so the nurse put me on
Symbicort
. This made me feel very odd; uncharacteristically anxious and shaky so my GP recommended a 2 week 'rest' of Becotide only before re-introducing Serevent.

The new Symbicort SMART inhaler
I was wondering if any of our esteemed medical professionals has had any direct experience of this-either personally or prescribed to their patients-is it as good as it sounds?-I ask this because although my Seretide has undoubtedly done me some good,I would prefer not to take any steroid medication

Symbicort and anxiety attacks
I read that
symbicort
can cause depression like symptoms but nothing about anxiety. I'm not normally anxious even when I'm stressed out at work. Any thoughts gratefully received. Sonja

A bit of advice re strange feelings in my chest
But... the doctor has upped my
symbicort
for a month and what I want to know is whether this heavy, tight feeling in my chest could really be my asthma getting worse - I'm just confused as my peak flow isn't changed.

Pred and Chickenpox
PS - All the other meds I'm on are Singulair 10mg, Cetrizine 10mg,
Symbicort
100/6 two puffs twice daily, Ventolin and Atrovent. I've also already had chickenpox if that helps!

FDA and Long Acting Bronchodilators
It struck me from my own experience and reading some of the posts on here that GPs are rather quick to prescribe serevent/
symbicort
and the like and keep you on them. I've gone back to my steroid inhaler at a higher dose without an LABD (after a nasty time with
symbicort
) and feel ok with it.
