Symbicort

Hi, Im currently taking symbicort, ventolin and theophylline 200mg plus piriton. On Sunday I got only what I can describe as the flu, stayed in bed for 3days,my breathing wasn't to effected. Now I have a persistent cough, yellow /green phlegm and my breathing is getting worse.

I owe this to the amazing symbicort, after 2 years my peak flow has increased from 400 to 700 and for the first winter since I can remember I dont have a chest infection.

Hello everyone. you may or may not remember me telling you all I was taking a part in a symbicort smart study. My part in this has now been concluded and the results sent off to be analysed with everyone elses. I found it a good thing to take part in and for me it was a turn for the bete.

I take symbicort 400/12 2 puffs twice daily, Montelukast and Salbutamol as and when required.

I'm on the usual works medicines wise Symbicort, Singulair, Uniphylline etc. unfortunately, although I have lots of allergies I have very low IgE levels(which I know can happen) so can't get Xolair. Does anybody have any other ideas as to whether there is any other type of medication left??

Since being on symbicort my asthma has deteriorated, to the point of having to be on regular steroid courses and being on the maximum strength Symbicort inhaler. Hope to have my question answerd. Moschops

Hi Everyone, Is anyone taking Enbrel for arthritis who also has asthma, I have been stable on symbicort for 4 months and they now want to treat my arthritis with biologics but i am really worried about the high risk of infections?

What kind of experiences do you have on using Symbicort or some other medicine that includes both corticosteroid and a long-effecting reliever?

Moan over need another neb, any suggestions of alternative meds would be great I will try anything, on Syringe Drive with Bricanyl, Symbicort, Uniphyllin, etc the usual Brittle Ashtma stuff - poor doc apologised today saying he was so sorry not much else I can try, so I thought I would ask you guys (

Could anybody tell me whether Seretide is a stronger inhaler than Symbicort? Or is it that they are just completely different medications. I have had a higher peak flow with Seretide but have recently been put on Symbicort because of the shakiness I had from Seretide.

On arriving home began using the symbicort, thats 3 days ago and still have the same symptoms. Not sleeping well and coughing during the day as well. Should i double the dose for the symbicort now and how long does it take before i will feel better or do i need something else.

Don't know what they can do though, as i am on Singulair 10mg, Ventolin, Symbicort 200/6 was on 400/12, but they reduced it back in May as i had a couple of months symptoms under control, and they said if my asthma flared up again they would have no where to go ?

I am on Atrovent 20mg 2 puffs 4 times daily, Symbicort 200/6 2 puffs twice daily (although not been able to take for nearly a week as i can not take a deep enough breath to inhale the powder) and ventolin.

Now I can understand this with a regular preventer only inhaler but is this true when you have a long acting reliever built in like with symbicort? Christine

Since she switched my Symbicort to Seretide on Monday I'm feeling much better, I'm sleeping better, my hands have stopped shaking so I'm not constantly dropping things, so far I haven't had a migraine though it's early days on that one (on symbicort I was having one *at least* once a week).

I was initially on beclamethasone (brown) preventer 250, twice a day, a few years ago whilst in hospital I was changed to symbicort (red/white), and a couple years later seretide (purple)250. I am really bad for remebering to take my preventer.

I take Symbicort 400/12. Started off with lowest dose - Symbicort 100/6 - and worked up to now current dose of four times inhalations per day of 400/12 Symbocort plus other meds. I've found this combination by far the best for relief from EIA ( exercise induced asthma ).

I just wondered if anybody had developed a worse cough, especially in the morning, when switching from seretide 250 to symbicort 400/12. I changed the inhalers just over a week ago and seemed to be feeling worse.
