I would not reccomend this to anyone but I have been able thusly to stop regular
symbicort
/ inhaler use.

Good news!
Not only is this generally good, but as nothing else has changed I think it might be the
Symbicort
actually starting to work!! Which is good for many reasons apart from symptom relief, including me having something to show my cons next time I see him so he has a better idea of what's going on.

Help?
Has anyone had experience of fixed dose combinations (Seretide and
Symbicort
I believe they are called) and can anyone recommend devices that are really easy to use? Hope you can help! Hannah

Help?
GrannyMo 17 Apr 12 9:28pm
I've had both
symbicort
and seretide.
Symbicort
, I had a tester whistle to get used to this type of inhaler as its a sharp quick inhale.

Fed up :(
Philomela 17 Apr 12 10:55pm
Charlie, I'm guessing 4mg is actually a pretty high dose - that's 4000 mcg and
Symbicort
is measured in mcg, so that's like having 10 puffs of
Symbicort
400/12 a day!

Really worried about my breathing / asthma - anyone with these symptoms?
Specialist was a bit confused - he said he would have expected the
symbicort
to have certainly got rid of the wheezing. I have it now for 5 months. He has put me on 400
symbicort
now - he says to come back in 3 months and he should expect that the wheezing should be gone.

Massive Moan Alert - Ignorant Consultan!!!!
I asked my consultant if I could possibly change from
Symbicort
to something else because I am just not under control and to me that means it is not working so why not try something else? He said he just dare not interfere with my meds even though they are not exactly working.

Symbicort & Foot Cramp???
Do others taking
Symbicort
, Pred or Montelukast suffer with cramp in their feet? I think it might the the
Symbicort
which I started a couple of weeks ago (i'm on the smart system and using my max allowance most days at the moment).

Friday I had an appointment with the asthma nurse who gave me
symbicort
because my peak flow was only 300 and it was apparent that Ventolin wasn't enough.

Discouraged and in need of some Steve bashing
Obviously I'm crossing my fingers the
Symbicort
works but even if it does it will take a while. And meanwhile, I have Steve etc constantly bothering me and apparently no way to do anything about it, because it's not actually asthma causing most of it!

Constant productive cough and voice problems
Prescribed Prednisolone, which didn't seem to help, then

Cutting the grass - schoolboy error!
I've taken lots of
Symbicort
, showered to get any excessive pollen and bits of grass off me, but my chest is still tight. I promised I'd cut the grass, but I'm not looking forward to doing the back - its at least 3x the size of the front and is a bitch to do as it is so uneven. <sigh>

symbicort inhaler contents
I've been reading (both education for healths coursework, and BNF) about
symbicort
and I've become confused as to its contents. Both the BNF and education for health agree that it contains Formeterol as oxis 6 or oxis 12 and beclometasone 100, 200 or 400mcg.

When did doing the hoovering become so difficult?
I've just spent the past 20 minutes hoovering the upstairs of the house and I am now KNACKERED and have needed an extra puff of the
Symbicort
to sort me out (5th extra puff of the day on top of the 3 regular ones I would've taken by now). I still have the downstairs and the stairs to do.

How long should I give it?
It's 9 days since I saw the asthma nurse and increased the
Symbicort
(2 puffs am, 1 lunchtime, 1 teatime, 2 bedtime). So far, I've not noticed a difference. I'm still waking between 4 and 5am, it still takes me a good few extra puffs after getting up before my lungs feel properly functional.

Not controlled
I've been on beclametasone, seretide, after seeing a consultant I'm on
Symbicort
SMART. The
symbicort
seems the best fit, but I am still having problems.
