I'm new!
I went to see him again yesterday and he wants me to try an additional inhaler for a month (
Spiriva
) as he thinks that my help improve my peak flow which is pretty poor. So I have got it and will try it for 30 days and record my peak flow every day. I find the whole thing such a shock.

I was diagnosed with COPD last year with an FEV of 50%, went to clinic last month and lung capacity down to 41%, can anyone explain?
I dont fully understand the difference between FEV and lung capacity, the nurse has changed my medication last month and I now take Ventolin, Symbercort 400 and
Spiriva
. Mornings seem to be my worst time, i get tireder as the day goes on by 4pm I am ready for my bed!

Still on the UP !
I have refused to take the
Spiriva
as I have a heart murmur and the BMJ does not give a good write up on that one! They have had to change my inhaler as it would appear I had a reaction Serentide, so the new one has a lower steroid and Im hoping I will not relapse.

DON'T TRY THIS AT HOME!!
Taking my morning meds today (few different things, tablets and inhalers) when I got sidetracked by my husband (its ALL his fault obviously;-)) when I stupidly swallowed my
spiriva
capsule instead of putting it in the handihaler and inhaling it!!! Arghhhhhhh......

personality transplant!
He's added
spiriva
to try for a few weeks and then if this doesn't help he is now prepared to look at giving me a nebulizers- total transformation!!! It did make me chuckle when he told me I'm making life interesting for him and that I'm complicated :-) I told him I've always been a bit special!

Need a rant to people who understand!
I'm also taking qvar,
spiriva
, singulair, theophylline, and god knows how much ventolin! I'd never had a hospital admission for my asthma until november last year, just had the odd neb until that point.

Asthma Drugs ?
When I last saw the consultant I asked if there was any different medication I could try so he added
spiriva
even though I don't have COPD saying it may help but it hasn't.

I honestly don't know how much more I can take ....
Thankfully my boyfriend was with me and went through everything with the doctor which is why I ended up coming away with something to help surpress the cough
Spiriva
Respimat and a 2 month review. I'm still feeling really low and still haven't been out of bed since Friday afternoon.

Help - Treatment Steps - very upset and scared
Hi all, This is further to my post earlier about the
Spiriva
inhaler really. I've spent the evening stewing over the consultant telling me we are running out of treatment options and feeling really angry and upset and.....quite frankly.....scared.
