I have been on
sinemet
(carbidopa/levodopa) since 2002 and have had good success; however I recently went through what I thought was low blood sugar issues, so began looking for a solution.

Changing from Mirapex to Sinemet
I was on
Sinemet
for several months and a new neurologist changed me to Mirapex. I have been on it for two moths and it is not working as well as
Sinemet
. I have read several reports that it is very difficult to come off Mirapex. Has anyone come off it and how difficult was it?

PEG tube dementia/PSP - end of life
My dad has PSP and is in an advanced stage - he had a PEG tube inserted when he aspirated 4 months ago - the neuro stopped his carpidopa-levodopa (
sinemet
) since he had horrible leg spams - it led to a very bad state where he could not talk, eat, drink, sit up, communicate or even swallow his own saliva

Fast-Talking, Fast-Walking Contradiction
Sinemet
will typically produce a positive effect on Parkinson's while registering no impact on Essential Tremor.
Sinemet
had no impact on JPepper's tremors. Despite having admitted in a rare moment of naked honesty to 'Hikoi', "I do not have a resting tremour, but I do have an essential tremour.

Eating habits and supplements
I guess I am going to be learning that not all alternative supplements work well with
Sinemet
and Azilect. Feedback please? Thank you!! Keep up the good work!! Hugs and much love from Eva G. :)

The more I take, the less I make ...
Sometimes I think that this phrase accurately describes the taking of L-dopa (in my case
Sinemet
). Do other sometimes feel it is like this? John.

I have nothing further for you!!
In the past 2 years I've quickly titrated up to 2 tabs of
Sinemet
every 3 hours which was ordered 4 months ago. My wearing off periods are getting more frequent and lasting less .

The effect CBD has on my Parkinson's symptoms
But in general when I can get five to six hours of sleep the same time of day, and am not titrating my
Sinemet
, Amantadine, or Deep Brain Stimulator settings, and am able to consume a reliable quantity and quality of CBD, I am able to ambulate.

Rytery
I quit taking it and went back to the
Sinemet
which I had been taking. Residual effect is that I started dragging my left foot and now walking is difficult. Neuro then prescribed
Sinemet
extended release for overnight. Same effect as Rytery...completely frozen. So quit that as well.

In no man's land
Also, the PD meds backfired when I tried them (
Sinemet
, Artane, I forget what all). Same thing when I tried neurontin and lyrica. I feel completely hopeless. If I didn't have to walk the dog I'm afraid I wouldn't get out of bed. That won't do.

Rasagiline or Selegiline?
I was diagnosed with PD eight months ago and was put on
sinemet
(12.5/50) three tablets 3 times daily. I still have some tremor and other problems. My worst are painful muscles when walking.

sinemet cr
I'd like to hear from those who have tried
sinemet
cr. I just started taking it this week along with regular
sinemet
and amantadine and it seems to be helping a great deal.
